Tournament Information

Tournament Name: Weston Women’s Doubles League 3.0

Registration: Each Player should complete their tournament registration on

https://www.aptleague.com

Registration fee: $30 per player

Registration End Date: 2/28/2025. A copy of the official team roster must be
submitted prior to Feb 28th. Include the captain’s name, co-captain’s name and
each player’s name and email address.

League Start Date: 3/15/2025
League End Date: 5/3/2025

Tournament Schedule: Home clubs could schedule matches at their discretion
at either 10:30 am or 11:30 am on Saturdays. However, starting times MUST be
notified to the league board and to the visiting team’s captain a week prior to the
match. No matches to be played on 3/22 & 3/29 in observance of Spring Break.

2. Team Selection


Ratings: The rating for this league is the equivalent of 3.0 NTRP ratings USTA
and/or B2 Iola McCoy league.

Age: All team members must be at least 19 years old.

Team Change: A rostered player is locked into a designated team after being
listed on the roster and/or having participated in one match.

3. Tournament Format

Teams: There are 4 teams representing Mid Town Club, Weston Hills Country
Club, Bonaventure Town Center Club & Weston Tennis Center. Each team will
consist of a minimum of 8 players.

Match Format: Round Robin only. No Finals play. Team with the highest number
of points will win the tournament. Each dual match comprises of 3 lines of
doubles.


Every team will have 2 dual matches against an opposing team, once at their
home courts and once as a visitor. Thus, each team will play 6 times.
Types of Matches: Each dual match includes 3 lines of doubles matches.

o Doubles: Two players from each team compete in doubles matches. Each
doubles match will consist of the best of 3 standard sets format (first to 6
games, with a 2-game lead). If the score gets to 1 set a piece, a 10-point
super tiebreaker will be played in lieu of the third set.

o Tiebreaker: If the set score reaches 6-6, a tiebreaker game will be played
(first to 7 points, win by 2).

4. Match Scoring System

Overall Points: The team with the most dual matches won at the end of the
season wins.
First Place Team: If team are tied for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, the winner is
determined by the most sets won between these two teams. If sets tied as well,
most games won between these two teams will be used to determine the winner.
Team Score Entry: Winning team’s captain will be responsible to enter the score
on www.aptleague.com from the player dashboard.

5. Match Procedure

Balls & Supplies: The home team is to furnish new yellow balls. The home team
has the option of providing either lunch or snacks and drinks. If not providing
lunch, snacks and drinks MUST be provided for both teams.

Venue: Scheduled match site and date cannot be changed without approval from
the league board. Home clubs could schedule matches at their discretion at
either 10:30 am or 11:30 am on Saturdays. However, starting times MUST be
notified to the league board and to the visiting team’s captain a week prior to the
match.

Courts: Failure to provide courts at the prescribed time will result in a default on
the home team lines unable to start. A forfeit time of 15 minutes will be strictly
enforced.

Line-ups: Line-ups (score sheets) are to be exchanged simultaneously by the
captains before starting time. Once the exchange is made, there will be no
changes in the line-up. An exception is made for a rained-out match or injury
during the warm-up.

Breaks: Breaks are taken after odd games only, for the duration of 90 seconds.
A five (5) minute break is permitted between the second and the Super
Tiebreaker only. Bathroom breaks are permitted at any time.

Warm-Up: Each player/team has 10 minutes for warm-up before the match

begins. All practice serves are to be taken BEFORE play begins.

Serving: The serving order will alternate between teams, and players must serve
from the appropriate side (right side to left side, etc.).

Forfeit: When a team does not have all three (3) lines available to play a match,
the missing lines must each take a forfeit. If a team defaults 1 or 2 lines
continually, the league board will issue a warning that if the forfeits continue, the
team shall be dropped from the league. When a team drops out of the league
during the season, all points won by another team from the team that dropped
out are negated.

Penalties: Mobile Phones Rule: In the event a cell phone sounds, the following
cumulative penalty system will be enforced against the offending doubles team:
FIRST DISTURBANCE: Offending doubles line will receive a warning.
SECOND DISTURBANCE: Offending doubles line will be penalized with the loss
of one point.
THIRD DISTURBANCE: Offending doubles line will be penalized with the loss of
one game.
FORTH DISTURBANCE: Offending doubles line will be penalized with the
forfeiture of the match.

Court Traffic: Friends, coaches, children, and parents are not permitted on the
court at any time.

6. Code of Conduct
Sportsmanship: All players are expected to demonstrate fair play, respect for
opponents, and proper behavior. Unsportsmanlike conduct may lead to penalties
or disqualification.

Code Violations: Any player violating tournament rules will be penalized or
disqualified, depending on the severity of the infraction.

Line Calls: If a dispute occurs regarding line calls, the player closest to the line
will reserve the right to make the final decision. As a gesture of courtesy, you can
offer to replay the point.
7. Injuries

Injury Time-Out: Players can request an injury time-out if they are injured, but
this must be approved by the opponent team. The time-out will not exceed 5
minutes.

8. Rain Outs & Rain Delays
A rain DELAY is a 30-minute period. Thirty minutes from the scheduled starting
time, if the courts are still unplayable or it is still raining, the teams may
reschedule. If there is a rain delay, the forfeit time is still 15 minutes from the
scheduled starting time.
In case of rain, it is the two Captains who decide whether to call a match off due to rain.

The schedule of rain dates will be done in the following manner: Arrangements
for makeup dates are to be made before 6 pm of the rained-out match day and
that becomes the new match date. The home team must offer three (3)
alternatives days. Visitors must accept one of those alternatives’ dates. If no date
is accepted, the visiting team defaults their line(s).
If the first ball has not been served in a team’s match, rostered players may be
substituted in the make-up match. However, once the first ball is served, the
same 4 players must resume play.

Rained out matches must resume at the point at which they were interrupted.
Captains are to make notations on incomplete play, recording all scores, server,
and side of court. All previously played points stand.

9. Complaints & Grievances:
All complaints against an opposing team member will be made in writing to the
league board by the captain within 72 hours of the match. All disputes will be
addressed by the board. If a Captain is contacted by the board for clarification of
any issue, the captain shall have 72 hours to make her response, or decisions
will be made based on the information on hand.
